Welcome to the Lisburn Group  Website

Nature is amazing, and as a member of the RSPB you are part of a movement of over a million other people who are helping us keep it that way.

Most members aren't 'bird experts', but ordinary people united by a desire to see birds and other wildlife flourish in their natural habitats. People who take great joy in seeing birds and wildlife in their own gardens and local area's.

Just A Moment!

Have you ever had a moment when nature taps you on the shoulder and you just connect? It could be the unexpected sighting of a fox on your back lawn? A sunset that takes your breath away? A robin perched on the handle of a garden implement feet away from you? a  wintering thrush feeding on the garden berries? finches and tits feeding from a bird table? Its as if the whole world just suddenly stops. Your soul gets stirred up. Suddenly you're brimming with a passion to get out more often, to breath fresh air, to grab hold of more of what you've just experienced.
That description fits most RSPB members and certainly most Local Group Members. Our local group is a meeting of like minded folk who enjoy learning more about birds, wildlife and our environment and going out to enjoy  seeing them in their natural habitats.

As a charity, the RSPB rely's on the support of members to continue our work protecting birds and wildlife.

We are always pleased to welcome new members to our local group and it is preferred but not necessary to be a member of the RSPB itself to join our group. We exist to support the RSPB and to enjoy and learn about wildlife, especially birds in the Lisburn City area and throughout  Northern Ireland.

SEE OUR MEMBERSHIP PAGE FOR DETAILS

See our calendar for details of indoor events and field trips. Everyone is welcome to our meetings where you will hear interesting talks from a variety of speakers on many different aspects of birds and wildlife at home and abroad. There is always a cup of tea and a chance to mingle and make friends at the end of each meeting.

Read our fieldtrip reports in the News Letters page and find out where to watch birds and enjoy our beautiful countryside.
